Our mission is to RediscoveRosarito through developing an international coalition between students from Emerson College, in Boston, and local leaders of Rosarito Beach, Baja area. We are dedicated to restoring the image of Rosarito Beach as a safe, secure, and prime location for tourism, retirement, and real estate investment.

Making Our Mission A Reality
On the weekend of March 1- 2, 2008 a delegation of our team made their way to Baja California on a fact finding expedition. With the assistance of Ron Raposa, Head of International Public Relations for Rosarito Beach, our team arranged a series of interviews with important constituencies of the community.
The meetings were capped with a presentation of our strategic plan to restore the image of Rosarito Beach to Presidente Hugo Torres.
Our visit was warmly received by the local community and yielded considerable coverage from the local print and online media.

A group of 9 students and teachers of this university visited the mayor's office.

Like “help that fell from the sky” the Mayor of Rosarito Beach, Hugo Torres Chabert, called the project named “Rediscover Rosarito” a school job to restore the image of the city in the United States, was presented by students and teachers from Emerson College in Boston, MA on the past March first.

Emerson College which is devoted exclusively to train professionals in the communications field, and looking through an international alliance with the authorities in Rosarito to restore the image of the region, as a safe and attractive option for tourism, conventions, real estate investments and plans for professional retirees. Those in charge of the project belong to the Masters degree in Management and Communications aims to solve the economic crisis, political and social life, along with the bad reputation it has acquired the Rosarito area due to the spread of criminal incidents in Baja.

“We will let people know about the effort that Rosarito is doing to improve the police force and how lucky we are because the Governor has the same interest in ending insecurity in Baja California, as well as the president for his willingness to support the municipal police and also has worked in the State with the presence of the army and the Federal Preventive Police” said the mayor after the meeting with students.

The students spent three days in Rosarito Beach, and their intention with this project is to really know what is happening in the municipality in a truthful manner and without exaggeration, receive the information, so it can be well managed, and prevent psychosis among the California tourists, and of course combat the media coverage against this city.

This project priority is to investigate and study the various aspects that affect Rosarito with the help of speakers, consultants, experts in crisis management and mentoring teachers responsible for the field of Public Affairs, with a plan based on management strategies in crisis of political communication and public relations.

“We will be taking care of this work very closely because it will represent a major support for the promotion of tourism and also bring back to Rosarito to the days it had been before, a safe place as a tourist destination for visitors”, emphasized the Mayor.

The students interviewed several local people, including American citizens residing in Rosarito, chairmen of agencies, and other.

It is worth mentioning that this support will provide American students joined the advocacy work being done by the City Council in the State of California, where the mayor has visited the media to report the real situation of the municipality, as well as actions already on their way to restore the confidence of visitors.
